CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2024 SPURS Jr. NBA COACH OF THE YEAR WINNERS!

The Jr. NBA Coach of the Year program celebrates youth basketball coaches who uphold the core values of the game – teamwork, respect, determination, and community – and inspires them to continue teaching the fundamentals of the game.

The Jr. NBA Coach of the Year program will celebrate two categories of coaches: community and scholastic.

The San Antonio and Austin Spurs will recognize community and scholastic coaches across the youth basketball landscape who are committed to teaching the game we love at the grassroots level (14 and under) and who have made a lasting impact in our communities while positively influencing the overall youth basketball ecosystem, including players, coaches, parents, and referees.

Noah Phillips

2024 Spurs Jr. NBA Scholastic Coach of the Year

Coach Noah Phillips is a skilled coach and a compassionate mentor who has a deep commitment to developing well-rounded students. He not only trains them to excel on the basketball court but also teaches them important values such as hard work, respect, and positive energy, as well as emphasizing the importance of being a team player, regardless of wins and losses. He assists in after-school program, where he doesn't just let the kids run around until the parents and guardians pick them up. Instead he provides tutoring for those struggling or just a moment of conversation to make their child's day. This reflects the deep and positive impact he has had, and will continue to have on his student-athletes.

Juanesha Maxfield
